Origin finds

It was my birthday last weekend and as a present to myself I decided to visit Origin, a contemporary craft fair held at Old Spitalfields Market in London.

I was so excited to see the amazing works of over 200 makers and I wasn't disappointed, there were some amazing creations and I thought I'd share a few of my favorites over my next few posts starting with paper, there was so much amazing work, think it could be a busy week of blogging!

It was great to see some crafters I've mentioned previously (some more than once!)

I was so impressed with the huge amount of work put together by one of my favourite book / paper artists, Sarah Morpeth, after hearing she'd had a complete sell out earlier this year at Art in Action in Oxford. It was lovely to meet with her again and see her and her stand absolutely buzzing. I am very, very excited about commissioning our anniversary piece from her.. in fact I must send that email!

It was also really nice to see Claire Brewster's new works. I really love her bird paper cuts out of maps but the flock of hand painted plywood laser cuts was fairly impressive.
